1 Electrostatic Potential
A spherical shell of radius $$10\, cm$$ is carrying a charge $$q$$. If the electric potential at distances $$5 \, cm, 10 \, cm$$ and $$15 \, cm$$ from the centre of the spherical shell is $$V_1, V_2$ and $V_3$ respectively, then respectively, then
1) $$V_1>V_2>V_3$$ 2) $$V_1$$<$$V_2$$<$$V_3$$ 3) $$V_1=V_2>V_3$$ 4) $$V_1=$$$$V_2$$<$$V_3$$
Solution:
Inside the spherical shell potential is same
$$\Rightarrow\quad\quad\quad V_{1}=V_{2}$$
$$\quad \quad \quad \quad V\propto \frac{1}{d}$$
i.e. $$ \quad \quad V_{1}=V_{2}>V_{3}$$
